Petite Java-"I love you mom, but I love Daddy the most."
Blue Java-"This must be advanced math bc my brain hurts."
A friend-"Yup forgot. Bought the gift at Food Lion."
I am reading..."The ex-Debutante" by Linda Francis Lee.
Funny stuff. Last summer I read Devil in the Junior League, also by Lee.
Off for a quick weekend visit. Don't tell my mother in law.

One or NONE, followed by the Fire Station
So Petite Java and I were at TJ Maxx. I let her pick one thing-either Tinkerbell lipgloss or Hannah Montana make up with some birthday money.
She couldn't decide, 10 minutes pass.
One or none. I am going to count to three. She did E,M, M , Mo, but still couldn't decide.
So she was determined to get both. I was determined one or none. We left with none.
So as you can imagine Petite Java was a mess, pitched a fit, and unbuckled twice.
The third time I buckled her I thought it was over with until she unbuckled as truck was in motion. I pulled into the Fire Station.
At this point she lost her mind, promised to buckle. As I came around to her side, a truck pulled in and parked right by us.
The firemen graciously had a little chat with her. Of course Petite Java was trying to close her door so she didn't have to talk to them.
She promised she would always be safe and never do it again.
They gave her a hat and a sticker.
She does not want Grande Java to know.
Oh Happy day.

my girlfriends this week
after a conversation when my eyes were misty
"Are you PMSing or something?"
Curly hair on a humid day before meeting up with friends
"Maybe you should try to smoosh your hair a little bit."

Thoughts on the brain
I love how everyone sends all of these great holiday appropriate status updates on FB.
Lots of shout outs to people they know who have served in the military, messages to dads they have lost.
Yes my dad served in the Air Force for many many years. Yes I am appreciative. After he retired they adopted me.
My dad isn't here, he didn't die during war, he died from a sudden, massive heart attack, the day after we had brunch, and an hour after he told me ,"Don't worry Punk(in) meet me at the hospital with your mom."
So yes I am thinking of him but not bc he served our country, or that he is buried at a Veteran's Cemetary but because my parents were all about the BBQ matching flag shirts, and the big sales.
Now I am off to get the ingredients for my mom's potato salad-Grande's favorite. He doesn't even like his moms! He is working but is looking forward to potato salad, corn on the cob(the way my mom taught me how to make it) and perfectly grilled burgers!

Such a sweet girl
Petite Java and I were alone while the boys went to see Star Trek.
It was too cloudy to go to the pool, so Petite Java suggested we go see Morrie.
We got there right before chapel. She is so sweet and caring with all of the residents. She sat next to Morrie, "read" the songs, and then collected the books.
We had ice cream with him in the "Ice Cream Parlor" . Morrie told me that he was feeling lonely today so he was so glad we came. How do you not get a little teary? We visited for a while, posted a pic to FB and went our separate ways. We will see him on Thursday. I love watching the two of them interact. Today they sat across from each other, one with chocolate, the other with vanilla, and didn't say much-just smiled and enjoyed their ice cream after church.

I did not protect my young
Ok-
Major fear of birds. Bigtime.
So I am cleaning the kitchen and a bird flies in through the doggie door into the kitchen, perches in the pantry.
I scream, close all of the doors, tell the kids I am running to the neighbors. No one is home. My cell is in the kitchen.
At this point the bird flies through the butler's pantry into the house. I have closed all of the doors. The kids are in the front room.
I run, grab my phone and lock myself in the playroom.
The kids can't make a run for it, as the bird is now in the room next to them. What do they do? Hide under blankets with their heads poking out so they can watch a movie. When they hear the bird they cover their heads.
I called three neighborhood friends and finally Countess gets ahold of her husband and sends him over.
5 minutes pass, the cats think Nissan has killed the bird, I crack the door open between the playroom and the kids --the bird is standing there. The kids take cover and the bird starts squalking.
I think I am going to pass out. I am sweating profuseley. The Count pulls up, looks for the bird. I am kind of embarassed that I am telling him it is in the room with the kids, and they are under a blanket.
I manage to toss him a Barbie net, he opens a window and lets the bird go.
My kids come out from under the blankets dripping with sweat.
Ok-So I think I was able to process that it was my fear and the kids weren't in danger otherwise I would have rescued them.

Weekend Update
Grande Java was out of town. He is back but at work.
The kids and I are going to clean up, again, do some laundry and we will be poolside.
I haven't been to the gym in a few weeks and should be motivated bc it's pool season but I'm not.

I am the Captain of this ship and I need a telescope
Well I thought I was the captain of the ship.
Apparently Petite Java is.
Today started with Field Day. I manned the Drink Tent-3rd year in a row. If the woman next to me said one more time that the kids were complaining about the strength of the Gatorade I was going to lose it.
Maybe she could have told me that there were two more containers in a bag, hidden under the table. Ya think?
So someone mixed the Gatorade before I got there, with 75% ice making it impossible to stir, kids complaining. Yeah. 2 minutes into it I hear my name, followed by Blue Java crying. 2 minutes into field day he gets smacked by a kickball on the left side of his face.
Went to a local hot dog joint after. Never consume two dogs" all the way" with chili cheese fries and then go to the park. Not good.
Followed by friend over for Blue Java. Dinner with friends. Dropped off friend, played in neighborhood with more friends.
Dropped off friend of sisters friend for mom. Put a hold on talking-lasted maybe 1/4 of a mile.
Saw Petite Java's friend at park, hung out for 5 minutes.
Grande Java out of town.
Petite Java is still wide awake, standing on the bed saying "I'm not jumping."
Off for a much needed shower and maybe just maybe I will paint my toes.

This is how my night ends.....Kind of gross
Blue Java--I pooped and it's the size of my arm.
an hour later........
Blue Java-Will you look at it? I didn't flush it.
Me-It's the size of your arm. Why didn't you flush it?
Blue Java-I don't think it's going down.
Me-Flush. Plunge. Repeat.

So...
Pineapple delivery complete with a watermelon slice bonus.
Hosting gig, done.
House clean, including playroom---major.
Work, tomorrow, with purple shirt purchase. Not the best color but happy with the purchase.
Grande Java back from trip hours past ETA given earlier. 1/2 a point for bathing Java kids.
Petite Java took a nap, but stayed up late.
Blue Java--Perfect. Today. I owe him big-managed to microwave two kids dinners and help out while I was stressing out.
I am tired but happy that I pulled off ....Meals on Wheels, Pineapple Caper, Hosting, and whipped up a salsa and homemade guacamole. Yeah me!!
By the way..........Nissan pranced through the yard with a mouse in her mouth, thankfully I shut the door in time, and Petunia did a lovely lap through the house.

Halfway there...Livin on a prayer
IT was chilly this morning.
Petite Java took one look at the outfit I picked out and threw it on the floor. Next step breakfast-threw it in the trash. Last straw-took her to school in her nightgown and dressed her at school.
Grocery shopping, three diff. stores completed. Met a friend for lunch in between.
Picked up Blue Java and friend. Off to get running shoes before meet, hopefully Grande Java will meet us this evening.
Snacks and drinks waiting to be packed, leaving me 2 hours to unload groceries, change Blue Java, get gas, and go to the meet which is an hour away.
Tomorrow we get to sleep in, Blue Java gets to go to school late, and Pink Java and I have Meals on Wheels, Grande Java has a day trip, and I have a girls thing later - which I am co hosting at my crib. Great. Did I mention I also have to cut a pineapple and drop it off somewhere this evening before I get Blue Java shoes?
Yikes.

Saturdays kind of Stink
I am not a fan of Saturdays. I like them but I do not love them like most people. Grande Java works on Saturdays. I love sleeping in on Saturdays but I look forward to Sundays. Grande Java has been working 6 days a week.
Saturdays are busy in Bisquitville as they are in most towns. Saturdays I try to stay at home. The kids and I stay in our jammies for the better part of the day. We clean, we fry our brains on electronics, and Petite Java will try my patience.
The pool opens this weekend. Tempting but Petite Java would probably want me to go in with her. NOT today.
My goals for today are simple-
Take a shower
Finish Laundry
Straighten Playroom
Drop off some C-R-A-P at the consignment store.
I am looking ahead to next week and know that I need a head start. I have a busy week next week with Blue and Petite Java. Grande Java is already booked on his day off and I am co hosting a gig in the beginning of the week.

Friday for Me
Today I hung out with grown ups. Today I wore grown up clothes and went to work. Yes don't choke.
I am working on Fridays. As most of you reading this know Grande Latte is in a business that has been effected by the economy.
Most of you reading this also know that Pink Latte enjoys going out to lunch and buying things. I also have a love for shoes and fabulous bags. I haven't purchased either in a while and I am starting to get the shakes.
Michael Kohrs misses me as much as I miss him.
Morrie and I checked FB today and surfed the web checking out the dogs he used to show and judge. We commented on his grandsons pics of FB. My job was to write -"Grampa says ......" It was a lot of fun.
Morrie forgot his suspenders so it took us a while to get started, then he had some water on his pants and someone thought his pants were wet. Please please do not piss this man off. He just walked all the way to his room to put his suspenders on. He said "Yes they are a little wet but IT IS NOT WHAT YOU THINK IT IS! Luckily I found a nurse, she was able to get a pad and put it on the chair. Seriously I was thinking if he has to walk back, take off his suspenders and find another pair of pants I am going to have fit too. So anyways, Morrie did not pee his pants, I knew it and he made sure everyone else knew it too. Just so you know, Morrie was 6 ft .4 before he started shrinking. He told me he thinks he's about 6 3. now. He uses a walker/chair combo on wheels and keeps his large cup of water with him at all times. I am positive he sat in a little spilled water from his cup!
So after today I have decided that we can just surf the web through me, his family can post pictures to my e-mail and their FB. I do not want to cause him any frustration.
Oh and btw he told me that his grandson is getting custody of the kids and he and his wife are separating. The grandson told me that his dad said that Morrie hasn't been doing so well. The nurse told me that Morrie was in sad mood today and she was glad I was there to visit.
Umm Hello, I am not actually related to Morrie but love a little dirt.
Oh and Petite Java had a field trip to the Fire Station and reported -"The firemen are all Men and they are strong and cute."

Age is just a number
Today Petite Java and I had our weekly visit with her 92 pal. He lives in a residence primarily for people with memory loss. He doesn't have this at all, but lost his wife a few months ago.
I am living my own version of Tuesdays with Morrie.
I think Morrie(that's what his name will be) stays so young because he reads the paper, watches the news, and takes notes.
So today on my coolest visit ever, Morrie asked Petite Java if the bug on her purse was a twitter. He then asked me what this Twitter bug was. So I went to the library, made sure the internet was connected, and showed him the Twitter page. Next stop Facebook, followed by yahoo and a little gooogling.
We were able to find his grandson on FB(he is around my age so I thought it was worth a try). We sent him an e-mail. Next we googled his son and we were able to look at photos.
Tomorrow I am happy to report that I am going to visit again, bc his grandson friended me on FB and replied to our message.
Morrie was so excited and amazed. He is impressed with technology. Tomorrow I may set up a gmail account for him!

I do not love this town 2 blocks over
- I'm thinking bullets-as in format.
- The dog park causes too much stress
- Petite Java may not have Nilla Wafers for dinner
- A cold beer after a stressful incident makes things better
- Sometimes a cigarette with alcohol is a great combination
- I yelled back at a woman for yelling at me at the Dog Park
- She could've kicked my ass
- I was saving my daughter from being trampled by a pack of dogs
- No I wasn't watching mine while I was saving her
- Let me know what happened and let me apologize
- Starting off yelling at me isn't going to lead to us being friends
- If I see you in public with your 6 dogs I will stare you down
- No that isn't "League" attitude
- People like that should not be parents of children or animals

I love this town
Today I picked up produce from Food Lion which they donate to a local kitchen. The kitchen provides lunch to those in need.
I picked up 5 cases today. I love how this town is filled with volunteers and do gooders. I absolutely love being a part of it.
I stopped by and brought flowers to the church secretary/book keeper. From having worked at a Private School, I know this is a person you always want as an allie.
Petite Java was with me for it all. She is a mini me when it comes to volunteering. Our weekly visits to her 92 year old friend are proof of her giving heart.
I am telling you all of this because by doing something nice I was able to get over my foul mood from this morning.
Even if you don't do it every week. Try. Try to do something extra nice-I know you are nice all of the time-aren't we all? Send a card, e-mail, or buy a candy bar for someone. Make it an intentional act of kindness.

Trials of Grade School
On his way to brush his teeth and go to bed, I noticed a red folder labeled Social Studies.
Blue Java has a Social Studies report due tomorrow. He lost his original research that I helped him with last week.
Instead of looking for said worksheets he decided to do a different President.
On top of all of that it had to be written in cursive. Great. I haven't written in "proper" cursive in I don't know- 25 years.
Grande Java arrived home in the nick of time, managed the tears and helped Blue Java finish his report.
Petite Java woke from her 3 1/2 hour nap at bedtime. She is now watching a little Noggin. Her trial Hip Hop class knocked her out on the way home. Maybe she will be the Fly Girl I always hoped to be. Her dancing gene certainly does not come from me.

Play Doh
Petite Java received her first Play Doh contraption. She is the complete opposite of her brother, Blue Java when it comes to toys that do things. She keeps asking me which color is supposed to go in, where it goes and how to do it. She is definately more of a pretend play kind of kid.
This is also the same child that asked for an Ice Cream Maker for her birthday.

The Monday After
Today I am sitting in the aftermath.
Friday was Petite Java's dance recital. Saturday was Petite Java's Birthday and Sunday was Mother's Day. My inlaws were in town all weekend.
I took the day off yesterday. I watched tivo'd episodes of The Hills and Real Housewives. My lovely family also bummed it so everything was just put on hold until today.
