First 2 Days of School

Petite and Blue woke up bright eyed and ready to go the first day........................

MIL called to see how BLUE'S first day went
Did not ask about Petite
Reminded her that it was Petite's first day as well
said I know, I didn't forget how was her day--SHE THOUGHT SHE WAS IN PRESCHOOL. SHE did not remember that she was in Kindergarten. THought she went to a different school, and asked if she wore a uniform and what time she got out of school. HAD to EXPLAIN that they go to the SAME SCHOOL this year and SHE GOES FOR THE SAME AMOUNT OF TIME and yes it is REAL school.

Day 2
Blue home with a stomach ache

Petite
woke up
wanted to wear gym uniform
not gym day
wore navy shorts
screamed and cried the whole way to school that she isn't pretty
teacher had to pry her from me

Pretend that I am Oprah and share a favorite thing

I fill this cup with h20 at least 10 times a day.
My friends and I even have labels.
Grande would like to have one.

Petite is oh so discreet.......nope

Petite enjoys bobbing in the water directly under the lifeguards chair.

Petite loves to sit with the guards at their break table.

Petite fetches things for them.

Petite told us regarding Blue's sleepover-"I am so excited that all of these boys are staying here."

I wonder where the closest all girls Catholic school is?

Health, Happiness, and Hope

When our lives are crazy and our kids are nuts take a deep breath and be grateful.
For those of us that are married take a moment to be thankful that our spouses do the little things.
When your husband burns the lasagna and the kids are complaining remember that your family is sitting at the table together.
When you don't think you have the energy push through.
If crazy is your normal, you are still lucky.

Blue Java's friend lost his mom this weekend after a long battle with cancer. We had his friend over this weekend because not only was all of this going on but the dad was home with an extremely high fever.
His friend ended up staying with us most of the weekend. Family and friends came over to give their condolences but what do you really say to this family who has been through this, some of the kids most of their lives.

I have lost both of my parents and it does change you. There are moments when I am angry, but yesterday was probably the first time I looked at all of the positives. I was 25 and 31 when it happened. My parents attended my wedding, bought my prom dresses, and met the man I married.

We know a couple of families whose lives have changed dramatically in the past few months.
I know they have the courage and strength to get through tough times.

Blue Java scored his first point in a team game last night. I mean his first game ever. He has played soccer, hockey, and basketball.

Petite made all of her valentines. She wrote all of the names from her class list on foam hearts, decorated, and signed them.

Blue took a jar of change to buy a box of Thin Mints after school(I was at work).

I sent an e-mail to someone, not a forward, reminder, or request. I used to be very good at sending a letter a week to someone in my address book. I think the cost of stamps may have something to do with this.

We had leftovers twice this week.

January So Far

Blue Java is driving Petite crazy. HE has never really been mean to her until this week.
Since I am the little sister in my family I tend to take up for her.
We are having some diet changes in the house due mainly to Grande. It is going well but I find myself craving red meat and fried food.
I am feeling overwhelmed with School Association, League, and working part time. I have cooked a lot more than I have in the past. I love having a crock pot.
I am frustrated with Debbie Downers, there are a few out there who like to get you when you are down but then complain that they are losing friends. Of course I am not close to anyone in this half empty set but find that I have to be around them more than I would like.
I would really like to tell them that the reason why they are losing friends is because they don't know how to be one.
